Athlete Joanna Wietrzyk shat herself during the Hyrox event in Beijing. Diarrhoea was sliding down her legs and all over the floor laying in wait for the poor souls unlucky enough to be bringing up the rear as it were.
While defecation is a common outcome of particularly strenuous exercise, it’s been reported in some places that she was allegedly suffering with diarrhoea prior to the event but went through with it anyway.
Wietrzyk won the event but not before contaminating the shared equipment she used and creating a biohazard in her wake.
And her response to the whole affair:
“A win is a win”.
And this situation, my friends is an accurate metaphor for life.
There are those who will openly and unapologetically shit on everyone around them in their quest to either “win” or be in the good graces of other “winners”.
There are those who will be directly and indirectly affected by being shat on or exposed to the shit.
Then there are the onlookers. Some will be filled with disgust at the selfishness of the shitter for being aware of the damage they’re causing but continuing anyway, while others will ignore the potential risks and the plight of those effected and instead praise the shitter for their strength and resilience.
And lastly, there are those who are so detached from what’s happening either because it doesn’t affect them directly or because they’re purposefully ignoring it in favour of more uplifting and less disgusting events.
These people don’t give a shit.
